Christmas Baking Day

It is Christmas baking day at our house today.  My daughter flies in tomorrow from Denver (I am hoping with the winter storm coming she can get out!) so I hope to have all the baking done today and tomorrow.  Oh I know we don’t need all of these wonderful goodies, but Christmas is only once a year so we do indulge just a little bit.  Well…OK, a lot!

Every year I make Ranger Cookies and use gum drops  instead of the raisins. This recipe makes a huge batch so you should have some to give if you make this recipe.  (You can click on the name of the cookie to take you to the recipe)

I have a new “old” stove.  I love it, but the oven is small so I can just make small batches at a time. It does have a convection oven for baking, and the baked goods do come out light and fluffy.  Tonight Microwave Peanut Brittle is on the agenda.  Another word for that is crack candy, because it almost as addictive as crack cocaine!

Just a few pictures of my stove and kitchen for you.  I have painted the trim green now and I do like it.  But with all this baking, the mess is already starting to build up, so I think it is time I stopped blogging and started cleaning!

What is cooking at your house?  Do you have any family tradition recipes you are putting together today?
